Joseph V. Lombardi, MD, MBA, FACS. Dr. Joseph Lombardi serves as the System Chief Physician Executive and Chair of the Heart & Vascular Institute at AtlantiCare Health System. He earned his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College and completed his vascular surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lombardi is a renowned international expert in aortic surgery, with extensive publications on aortic dissection. As the founder and Director of two regional Aortic Treatment Programs, he has overseen numerous clinical trials focused on innovative, minimally invasive treatments for aortic aneurysms and dissections. Under his leadership, Dr. Lombardi has established one of the country's most successful vascular programs and developed a premier vascular educational program. His areas of expertise include peripheral vascular disease, aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm, carotid disease, and various forms of aortic surgery.
